Many programs and youth service professionals are struggling to connect with employers during this uncertain economy. Although the recession is over, recovery is slow and many employers are hesitant to spend money or do anything “extra” until they feel more financially stable. The catch is that the youth we all work with are a vital part of getting the economy going again – working youth contribute knowledge and manpower to their employer’s business, taxes to their community, and valuable purchasing power to the local businesses where they spend their earnings
